I joined FSP in October 2018 as a Delivery Manager. As an experienced Project Manager new to the world of consulting, FSP presented an exciting opportunity for me to continue to build on my project management experience, while also working closely with our clients, to support them in solving complex business problems and achieving their strategic objectives.
At the start of my second year at FSP, having had previous experience in recruiting and managing early career professionals, I was presented with an opportunity by our Directors to establish FSP’s Graduate Scheme. With the fast and steady growth of our business, it was the perfect time to develop a programme that would offer graduates an exciting start to their careers.
Within a month of kicking the initiative off we went into national lockdown, which brought an added layer of complexity and uncertainty. My challenge was to find a way to keep the ‘human’ element and instill FSP’s values in every part of what would now be a fully virtual process. Fully supported by the business; me and the newly-formed Graduate Recruitment Team were able to successfully run our first round of graduate recruitment which really reflected our inclusive culture. In September 2020 we welcomed our first graduates into the FSP family.
What had started as a side project had quickly become my passion. One of the things I really value about FSP is that employees are encouraged to explore our interests and pursue our passions.
In September 2020 I was promoted to a leadership role and set the challenge of establishing the Early Careers team, FSP’s emerging talent team consisting of graduates, interns and early career professionals. This promotion gave me the opportunity to bring to life my vision for FSP’s early careers offering and prove myself as a capable business leader. Joining FSP’s leadership team presented me with the unique opportunity to learn from the leaders I admire and to help shape the future of our business.
Since then, with the support of my colleagues and the leadership team, I have continued to deliver on my vision, growing the Early Careers team and continuously improving our emerging talent programme. In January 2022 I also took on the leadership role for our Client Delivery team, the team where my FSP journey started. I started my career at FSP as a Project Manager. Today, I am a Project Manager, Consultant and a leader of two teams. In just a few years at FSP my confidence and skills have grown rapidly, thanks to the opportunities I have been given and the inclusive and nurturing culture of our business.
